短說《二》．甚麼是e-Research？
e-Research（又或者eResearch），中文譯作「電子研究」，是應用於將先進的資訊和通信科技／技術 （Information & Communication Technology）用於研究實踐的術語，應用層面廣又闊， 關鍵領域包括電腦運算（高性能電腦計算）、研究數據和管理等。「電子研究」也着重於資訊技術對研究過程及活動的支持，以及資訊技術為科學研究探索新的方向和新的可能性。
世界不同地方的大學院校都對e-Research（eResearch）有各自的見解和定義，例如：
澳洲的中央昆士蘭大學 （CQUniversity）將e-Research（eResearch）看成：
eResearch is the term applied to the use of advanced information and communication technologies (ICT’s) to the practice of research. Key areas include collaboration, computation (including high performance computing), visualisation, research data management and tools.

新西蘭的奧克蘭大學 （The University of Auckland）則認為e-Research（eResearch）有以下的獨特性：
eResearch的目標是將研究過程作為一個整體進行改造，使其變得更加有效、更容易找到需要的東西，重用找到的東西，甚至駁斥工作別人的研究。

英國的蘭卡斯特大學 （Lancaster University）則指出：
“The term ‘e-Research’ indicates an emerging field in which advanced technologies are applied to existing research methods and approaches” …… “encapsulates research activities that use a spectrum of advanced ICT capabilities and embraces new research methodologies”
中文譯作：「電子研究」一詞表示一個新興領域，將先進技術應用於現有的研究方法和方法”……“囊括了使用一系列先進的資訊和通信科技能力並採用新的研究方法的研究活動。

不過從另一角度去看，我會將e-Research（eResearch）更廣泛地解讀為科技在教育的研究（Educational Research 又或者eduResearch），尤其是研究可能涉及資訊和通信科技為教育的各個方面，包括學生學習、教學方法、教師培訓和課堂動態等帶動的改變和影響。正當傳統的e-Research（eResearch）被廣泛地應用在大學、高等院校和學術界的研究身上，如果我們能夠將這個概念拓展到科技在教育上的應用、科技教育的應用以及和這些應用層面的研究，那就可以將e-Research（eResearch）這個課題加以討論。
雖然看似十分之學術研究，但我設立這個平台的目的，就是希望在教育和科技作一些深入的研究和討論，也希望可以將科技和教育這些課題，更加「貼地」地告訴大家！所以，我希望可以經這個平台和大家分享請有關教育和科技的資訊，大家多多支持！
